The BSDA facility, offering limited services for eligible individuals, was introduced to promote wider financial inclusion and encourage holding of demat accounts. No Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC) will be levied if the value of securities held is up to Rs. 50,000. For holdings between Rs. 50,001 and Rs. 2,00,000, an AMC not exceeding Rs. 100 will be charged. In the case of debt securities, no AMC is charged for holdings up to Rs. 1,00,000, and a maximum of Rs. 100 AMC is applicable for holdings between Rs. 1,00,001 and Rs. 2,00,000.
In cases of transposition-cum-dematerialization, clients can have securities dematerialized in the same account if the names on the certificates match the names on the account, though in a different order. This can be done by submitting the security certificates along with the Transposition Form and Demat Request Form.
Linkages with the Clearing System enable the actual delivery of securities from selling brokers to the clearing system, and from the clearing system to the buying brokers.
